PREFAB

District Homes is a prefab startup with a mission to build and sell homes that are building blocks for sustainable communities. Our patented “chassis” technology (U.S. patent no. 9,695,608) is designed for a wide range of missing-middle-scale building configurations and uses, including single-family homes, duplexes, 2-over-2 quadruplexes, rowhouses, live/work units, and small apartment buildings.

SUSTAINABLE

The need to serve the demand for more sustainable community development is the reason we exist. We are building sustainable solutions around our chassis system, including energy-efficient envelopes, materials, products, finishes, energy and water solutions, and more.

COMMUNITY

District Homes provides two key elements for community success: 1) Flexibility in design, use, and technology at the point of creation; and 2) Adaptability in configuration, use, and technology over time to allow homes and communities to evolve to meet changing needs. In combination, these create a new model for development that we refer to as “large-scale incremental development” – which allows large community development projects to be proactively responsive to user’s needs at an incremental (individual lot or occupancy) basis, from inception through the life of the community. 

DEVELOPMENT

District Homes exclusively serves the real estate development market: developers and homebuilders of new-construction projects with a minimum of 10 homes or similar-sized structures, up to hundreds of homes per project. We do not provide direct sales to homebuyers or other consumers.

District Homes is currently participating in feasibility studies for pilot projects in the USVI, the Pacific Northwest, and the Washington, DC region.
